7 Days Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari

The West Serengeti is commonly called the Western Corridor as the area takes the shape of a giant valley (running east to west) that is flanked to the north and south by hills. This narrow corridor is about 50miles long and flows towards Lake Victoria. Game viewing highlights include the rare Colobus monkey, Nile crocodiles, and large herds of Topi antelopes, elephants, and good concentrations of carnivores. Our itinerary focuses on this area since this is where the migrating herds of wildebeest shall be during May-June.

Our experience will not be limited to only West Serengeti, the Tarangire National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater is full of wildlife for us to enjoy.

Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in Tanzania
n
Upon arrival at the airport, your driver shall pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Arusha. Have a rest and prepare for your safari.

Accommodation at Karama Lodge & Spa
DAY 1: Drive to Tarangire National Park.
n
After a leisure breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park – Home of the highest population of elephants, wildebeest and over 400 species of birds. There will be lots of time for taking pictures. Have lunch in the great outdoor then continue with game drives. Leave the park and drive to lodge/cam for overnight.

DAY 2: Drive to Western Serengeti.
n
After breakfast, we drive to Western Serengeti, the drive will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation area, have a stop at the crater view point, where on a clear day you get to see all the way around the crater. You will then proceed to Serengeti have a stop on the way for your packed lunch and gate clearance, game enroute to Western Serengeti for overnight.

DAY 3 : Full Day game Drive in Western Serengeti.

Early morning wakeup call depart with packed breakfast for early game drive and for the Migrating herds the Grumeti River, drive back to lodge/camp for hot lunch later afternoon evening game drive then back to the lodge/camp for overnight.

DAY 4: Full Day Western Corridor Serengeti.

After breakfast drive to the park for full day game drive in Western corridor. The game will include packed lunch in a designed picnic area, later head back to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Drive to Central Serengeti.

After breakfast we head towards the far reach of Central Serengeti, we will do game drive enroute from Western area to central.

DAY 6: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Karatu

After breakfast, you will set out for your game drive in the Serengeti, in the afternoon you will drive to Karatu via Ngorongoro Conservation area for overnight lodge/camp.

Accommodation at Marera Valley Lodge
DAY 7: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater and Transfer Arusha.
n
After breakfast, we drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area descending into the crater for game drive viewing on the world Heritage site – Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is the home of the largest African mammals. Here it is possible to see elephants, lions, Hippos, a resident herd of wildebeest, zebra, various gazelles, baboons and the black rhino. Lunch will be taken at the picnic site at the water edge. Late afternoon ascends from the crater drive to Arusha for overnights accommodation or transfer to Airport.
